Privacy policy
The people who trust me with their love story also trust me with their personal details. Here is exactly what I collect, why, and what happens to it.
In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Felicity & Forever (ABN 56 121 571 469), a marriage celebrant and wedding florist based in Echuca Moama. Although a small business of my size is not currently required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), I choose to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles anyway, alongside the confidentiality duties every Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant owes under the Code of Practice for marriage celebrants.
What I collect
Through this website. The only place this site collects personal information is the enquiry form: your names, email address, phone number if you share it, your wedding date and venue if you have them, what you’re looking for, and your message. You can always ask a general question anonymously by leaving the optional fields blank.
As your celebrant. If you book me, Australian marriage law requires me to collect the details on your Notice of Intended Marriage: full names, dates and places of birth, parents’ names, evidence of identity, and evidence of how any previous marriage ended. Along the way you’ll also share the personal stories that make your ceremony yours. I treat those with the same care as the legal documents.
As your florist. Delivery addresses, venue access details and preferences needed to design and deliver your flowers.
I never ask for, and will not accept, tax file numbers.
How your information is used
To answer your enquiry, to plan and deliver your ceremony and florals, and to meet my legal obligations as an authorised celebrant. Nothing else. Replying to your enquiry is just that: a reply. I don’t run a mailing list, and if I ever start one it will be strictly opt-in with a working unsubscribe link in every email.
Who it is shared with
Some sharing is required by law, and I want to be upfront about it rather than pretend it doesn’t happen:
- After your ceremony, I lodge your marriage papers with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages of the state where your marriage was solemnised (Victoria or New South Wales for most of my couples) within 14 days, as the Marriage Act 1961 requires.
- The Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, which regulates marriage celebrants, may require information in its regulatory role.
Beyond that: your information is never sold, and I don’t pass your details to venues, photographers or any other supplier unless you ask me to or agree first.
Where it is stored, and how it is protected
Enquiries from this website are sent over an encrypted connection straight to my business mailbox, which is hosted with Microsoft 365, and they are not kept in this website’s database. Like most global providers, Microsoft may process some data outside Australia as part of operating its services. The website’s own content database is hosted with Supabase in Sydney, Australia, and holds no enquiry or client information.
Marriage documents are handled the way the celebrant Code of Practice requires: stored securely, with your original documents returned to you as soon as practicable and working copies destroyed once they are no longer needed.
How long I keep it
Records connected to a marriage are kept for as long as the Marriage Act and Marriage Regulations require. Those are statutory records, so I’m not able to delete them on request, even yours. Everything else (enquiry emails that don’t become bookings, ceremony drafts and planning notes) is deleted once it is no longer needed.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not track you. There are no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no cookies set for visitors, which is why you don’t see a cookie banner. The one cookie the site can set is a login cookie for me, on my own admin screen. If that ever changes, this policy will change first, and the date above with it.
Photos of your day
Photos from your ceremony or of your flowers appear on this website or my social media only with your express permission, asked properly, not assumed. The same promise is written into my terms.
Seeing, correcting or complaining
You can ask me at any time to see the personal information I hold about you, or to correct it. Email [email protected] and I’ll respond promptly. If you have a privacy concern, please raise it with me first. If you’re not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. Concerns about my services as a celebrant can also be raised with the Attorney-General’s Department through its marriage celebrant complaints process at ag.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated date. It won’t change quietly.
